Kim Vu Fabric- Proud to appear on VTV9’s “Net Zero Journey” with the story of research and development of pineapple fiber
From 20 years ago, Kim Vu Fabric has been a pioneer in the field of distributing uniform fabrics in Vietnam. Continuing that spirit, Kim Vu Fabriccontinues to affirm its leading position when accompanying the University of Technology, National University of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUT) to research and develop sustainable fiber solutions for the garment industry. Kim Vu Fabric’s appearance on VTV9’s “Net Zero Journey” with the story of pineapple fiber is a clear proof of this effort.
Two years of hard research on sustainable fabrics, full of challenges
Kim Vu Fabric’s journey to pineapple fiber started from a passionate desire to create environmentally friendly products. Over the past 2 years, Kim Vu Fabric has been tirelessly researching to create this fabric. Initially, the plan was to produce fabric from banana leaves, but after a period of testing, banana leaves were easy to break and did not meet the requirements. Undeterred, Kim Vu Fabric continued to search and experiment with pineapple leaves. From the pineapple leaves that are plucked, dried, put into spinning and woven into fabric, it is a process of unremitting effort.
Pineapple fiber – Green material for a sustainable future
Pineapple fiber is not only environmentally friendly, but also meets green production criteria, minimizing water and CO2 consumption. The closed product life cycle, can be produced – collected – classified – recycled, creating a sustainable value chain.
Pineapple fiber – The pride of green products made in Vietnam
Mrs. Tran Hoang Kim Ngan (Vice Director of Kim Vu Fabric and Fashion Company Limited) shared in happiness: “We collaborate with leading experts and other “green” companies to create “Made in Vietnam” products, from raw materials, spinning, weaving, and tailoring,..”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Mai Huong, lecturer of University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Head of Brand Management – Communication Department, University of Technology, assessed that pineapple fiber has no less quality than linen fiber, is durable and shiny. The quality of Vietnam’s pineapple fiber is highly appreciated compared to other countries in the region.
On the spirit of joining hands to bring green materials to consumers and strongly communicate this material, Kim Vu Fabric hopes that one day pineapple fiber will be as popular as Linen, as well as the price will become more and more attractive to reach closer to domestic consumers.
Kim Vu Fabric would like to sincerely thank VTV Television and the “Net Zero Journey” program for accompanying businesses, spreading green and sustainable messages to the community.
